Pacific countries — Niu Vaka II Strategy
-
With funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, we have partnered with International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) to support the implementation of IPPF’s regional strategy, Niu Vaka II.
The Niu Vaka II Strategy was created by Pacific organisations — for Pacific organisations — to come together and break through the barriers that limit sexual and reproductive health and rights.
This partnership involves providing support, and technical expertise to organisations in nine Pacific countries: Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Cook Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu. To date this has included:
- Providing online regional training workshops to organisations across the Pacific on quality-of-care principles, supporting improvements to the delivery of quality, inclusive gender and rights-based sexual and reproductive health services
- Delivering an in-person advocacy workshop to share learnings across organisations and countries, build advocacy skills, hear from expert speakers, and develop organisation level Advocacy Plans
