      About this training:

This professional development training is for any kaimahi who supports people with an intellectual disability with their wellbeing and would like additional resources to enable sexual wellbeing. The training is free, in-person and builds skill and confidence to facilitate Bodies, Boundaries and Being Me with participants.

This is a ‘train the trainer’ model, building professional capacity and knowledge. It will equip facilitators with a comprehensive programme, activities, worksheets and structure.

At the end of this training you will be able to facilitate sexual wellbeing topics using a combination of interactive activities and kōrero, and prioritising creating a safe space to learn and talk together.

The modules cover: body awareness; puberty and physical changes; identity, culture and orientation; consent and boundaries; healthy relationships and communication; pregnancy and reproduction; sexual health and contraception; digital safety and getting help.

Bodies, Boundaries and Being Me has been designed by Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa in partnership with a disability support service, weaving together expertise and knowledge in both disability support and sexual wellbeing. It is built on national and international best practice and evidence; and has values such as equity, inclusiveness and accessibility embedded throughout.
